Are Herring Runs Rebounding?

Herring eggsYou may remember hearing about, or even seeing, the herring spawning event in early spring (late March 2023). I did get some photos of eggs in the eelgrass (such as the one above) and some of the other activity around the event.

However, David Albright put together a very good short video about this event, including some underwater footage by our friend Laura James and some of the cultural connections. It was featured in the Seattle Channel’s City Stream program. Use the link below to see it:
