The Dungeness crab is large with a fan shaped carapace up to 8 inches across. Lateral to each eye are 10 projections or “teeth”. The 10th tooth is located at the widest point of the carapace.
Anthopleura elegantissima lives in rocky areas from the middle to low intertidal zones, it can also be found higher in tide pools
